Object of the Project:
The main activity of the National Printing House is the printing, management and circulation of the “Greek Government Gazette”, as well as the design, the printed and digital version and the management, supply and distribution of publications of the State and the wider public sector.
This project aims to the redesign, simplification and modeling of the process of reception, processing and publication of the Greek Government Gazette for all issues handled by the Organization, as well as the corresponding process of reception, planning and printing/digital publishing of other National Printing House publications, through the development of a new modern Information System.
The new IT system will grant the following:
- a new service environment for traders, with customized features, security and user-friendly capabilities;
- a sophisticated search functionality of the Greek Government Gazette from the general public, so that the search becomes faster and fully meets the information requirements of the interested parties.
Finally, the Publicity Plan will be prepared and the focused actions of publicity of the Act will be implemented, with the aim of providing information to the parties that hold transactions with the National Printing House and to the general public on the results of the Act, the organizational and technological changes that have been implemented in the National Printing House procedures and the new features that will be provided to users and traders
The Act consists of 3 Sub-projects, which will ensure its successful implementation.
More specifically:
Sub-project 1: “Redesign, Simplification and Modeling of the workflow of the National Printing House”
It includes the following phases:
Phase 1 – Capturing and evaluation of the existing operation status of the National Printing House with emphasis on the procedures for the reception and processing of documents to be published, as well as other work.
Phase 2 – Submission of proposals for the simplification of procedures for the reception and processing of documents to be published, as well as other work.
Sub-project 2: “Implementation of the Information System for the Workflow Management and Digital Services of the National Printing House”
It includes the following phases:
Phase 1 – Implementation Study.
Phase 2 – Development of Sub-systems/Digital Services.
Phase 3 – Procurement of Software – System Installation on G-Cloud.
Phase 4 – Training of System Users and Administrators.
Phase 5 – Pilot Operation.
Phase 6 – Test Operation.
Sub-project 3: “Project Publicity Measures”
The object of the Sub-project is the elaboration and implementation of the publicity plan and the dissemination of the project results,
What is the main aim of Sub-project 1?
The main objective of the project is to upgrade and optimize the operation of the directorates and departments of the National Printing House, with particular emphasis on the procedures for the reception and processing of documents to be published, as well as other work, in order to make them more easily accessible, effective, efficient, transparent and user-friendly to the citizens and bodies involved, through the use of Information and Communication Technologies.
What is the aim of Sub-project 2 and what are the main objectives?
The aim of Sub-project 2 is to improve the existing operation of the National Printing House, as it is the point of collection, maintenance and distribution of the archive of decisions, other regulatory acts, laws, presidential decrees and acts by all public administration bodies. And, above, its aim is the simplification of all procedures concerning the entire value chain of the National Printing House, covering: 1. the reception of documents to be published in the Greek Government Gazette, 2. the management and processing of printouts, 3. the recovery of material from various public administration bodies.
The main objectives of the project are the dynamic, individualized provision of information to the public, as well as the simplification of the procedures of the National Printing House.
What are the expected benefits and who are the beneficiaries?
The expected benefits from the implementation of the project relate to the following:
- Modernization and improvement of the quality and efficiency of the processes and services of the National Printing House
- Consolidation and overall upgrading of the services provided to the public (Public bodies and bodies of the wider public sector, citizens),
- Improvement of the effectiveness of the Organization’s processes and reduction of the corresponding operating costs,
- Compliance with the most advanced principles of personal data protection and security of managed data,
- Uninterrupted, up-to-standard services of the National Printing House and efficient utilization of managed resources.
The direct beneficiaries from the implementation of the project are the contracting Bodies that publish Acts in the Greek Government Gazette, the employees of the National Printing House and the general public.
