What is the object of the project?
In the context of the dynamic expansion in the use of new technologies and the required speed of adaptation to continuous developments, the Hellenic Coast Guard Headquarters (HCG HQ) puts forward the necessity of supplying end-user IT equipment (portable and fixed) for the execution of tasks and for strengthening wireless accessibility and the possibility of conducting teleconferences. The continuous modernization of the Agency by introducing new applications requires the continuous upgrading of IT office equipment while, at the same time, the possibilities of performing checks and tasks outside the closed workplace are increasing. In addition, requirements relating to printers and scanners will be covered as the existing equipment has been used for more than eight (8) consecutive years.
More specifically, the project concerns the supply of the following equipment and communication systems, as detailed in the Program Agreement dated 18.11.2021, between MMAIP and the company “Information Society S.M.S.A.”:
- Fixed IT equipment (PC) with accessories and at least 24-inch screens
- Portable IT equipment (laptops)
- Portable IT equipment (Tablets ruggedized)
- Laptops for interactive e-learning classrooms
- Heavy duty multitasking machine (with a 5-year guaranteed operation)
- Wireless access points
- Teleconferencing systems with accessories
What is the purpose of the project?
The aim of the project is to achieve the strengthening of the national capacity through the provision of technological equipment to the executives and the facilities of the Hellenic Coast Guard in order to upgrade the level of work and the response of the executives of the HCG HQ. The implementation of the Agreement will strengthen the possibility of coordination and communication of the Port Authorities with the HCG HQ, with the aim of multi-level improvement of the ability of the executives to respond in the course of their duties.
In addition, the implementation of the project will contribute to the adequacy of technologically advanced information and communication systems, in the context of the integrated management of maritime borders. Some relevant examples include the supply of upgraded teleconferencing systems, the supply of equipment, such as laptops, wireless access points and other types of IT equipment.
