What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is the provision of support services for the operation of E-Ticketing systems (central coverage of ticket issuance, as well as the management of ticket offices) and Access Control (Access Control System, turnstiles, portable validation devices, etc.) and the maintenance of the required equipment and software for one year. In particular, this project concerns the effective operation of the following:
(a) the E-Ticketing system and
(b) the Access control system, in thirteen (13) out of a total of 323 Archaeological Sites and Archaeological Museums [(Acropolis, Olympia, the Lyceum of Aristotle, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Library of Hadrian, Kerameikos, Ancient Messene, Knossos, Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, Archaeological Museum of Ancient Messene, National Archaeological Museum, Museum of Royal Tombs in the Archaeological Site of Aigai, Imathia)].
What are the benefits of operating an e-ticket?
The operation of the e-ticket has brought many benefits, including:
- The issuance of online tickets directly and securely on a 24-hour basis by all modern sales channels (computers, mobile phones, etc.), thus avoiding unnecessary inconvenience of visitors and waiting in queue at the ticket offices.
- The purchase of tickets for all areas where the system is installed, thus saving time and resources.
- The direct drawing of data such as: receipts per site/ticket category/fund/user/sales channel, traffic per site/time period (per hour, day, week, month), resulting in the modern monitoring of the movement of visitors and the possibility of direct export of relevant quantitative data, which contribute to the improvement of the decision-making process.
- The minimisation of the use of physical money in the archaeological sites and museums, resulting in more efficient supervision of cash flows.
