What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is the procurement, configuration and installation of an Integrated Next Generation Emergency Call Management System (NG-ECMS-112), i.e. a system consisting of software that will provide information support for the incoming part of the European Emergency Number 112.
What is the aim of the project?
This project concerns the procurement, configuration and installation of a Modern Next Generation Emergency Call Management System(NG-ECMS-112) for four hundred (400) users. It will consist of 112 Next Generation Call Management software, IP-PBX call center, Geographic Information System software and geographic data, and will enable 1st (PSAP-1) and second (PSAP-2) level callers to make calls voice, video and Real-Time Text (RTT) with all citizens, including people with disabilities, communicate via SMS, download eCall data and use simultaneous geo-tracking, where possible.
The system will be installed on an Active-Active layout in the two existing Data Centers of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and in the corresponding equipment infrastructure using virtualization/containerization techniques to facilitate flexibility and resource management. At the same time, the system will be Cloud-ready for future transfer to Government Cloud infrastructure. All bodies nationwide will have access through the SYZEFXIS Network.
What are the expected benefits from the implementation of the project?
The proposed project is considered critical since it is expected to:
- allow the support of emergency communications through packet-switched technology in application of Regulation 2023/444;
- upgrade the provision of services to people with disabilities by strengthening equal access;
- strengthen the coordination of all stakeholders (Civil Protection, Police, Fire Brigade, National Emergency Center, Hellenic Coast Guard) through the adoption and utilization of next generation technologies;
- upgrade the role of Civil Protection by enhancing citizens’ feeling of security and trust in Public Security Bodies.
