The project promoted by the Information Society for the new generation of G – Cloud, with a budget of 57,8 mil. euros
Advanced services will be able to offer government cloud computing (known as G-Cloud) to the entire Public Administration with obvious advantages for trading citizens and undertakings. The project promoted by Information Society for the new generation of G-Cloud, with a budget of 57,8 million Euros including pre-emption rights, ensures hosting and support of complex Integrated Information Systems for Public Administration Bodies with high demands on availability and security.
It is envisaged to implement two Data Centers, in different locations and interconnected with each other, with all the necessary infrastructure for the service of users and the provision of advanced digital services. Among other things, the new generation G-Cloud will have ready-configured systems (Platform as a Service) and virtual workstations ( Desktop as a Service) in the public Administration bodies, maintaining a high level of quality and availability of services.
The next-generation G-Cloud will give the GSIS the greatest possible flexibility in hosting computing systems, supporting bodies and implementing the digital transformation of the country.
At national level, the maximum possible range of technical solutions that can be implemented to meet the needs of the Digital Transformation without the need to adapt to technical limitations of technologies, operating systems or software.
At the same time, Information Society is implementing the project with a budget of 176,7 million Euros for the provision of central cloud services and infrastructure, which is currently under evaluation. The object of the project is to ensure the business continuity of the infrastructures that are hosted or are to be accommodated in GSIS and IDIKA and includes:

- Provision of Data Storage
- Provision of online and mobile applications (Application Services, Containers)
- Database Management Systems
- Business Intelligence and Data Analysis Systems
- Internet of Things systems
- Business Application Completion Systems
- User identification and authentication systems as well as system and infrastructure security systems
- Systems for the development of artificial intelligence applications
- Application development systems
- Infrastructure management and monitoring system
- HyperConverged Infrastructure with an extension to the public cloud
