The 10th anniversary award ceremony of the Impact BITE Awards 2021, the most important award-winning institution for technological innovation in Greece organised by Boussias Company, under the auspices of the Association of Information and Communications Companies of Greece (SEPE) and with the honorary support of the ELPRUN Lab of the Athens University of Economics and Business, was held with great success at the Markou Wine Museum, on Monday 27 September.

At this great celebration, which was attended by 300 market executives and was broadcast live via live streaming, the top IT projects and digital transformation actions, in the public and private sector, that stood out last year, were awarded again this year.

The Information Society was also present at this award ceremony, and received the Gold award of the year for the implementation of the great project “European Emergency Number 112″ in collaboration with the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Deputy Ministry of Civil Protection Management Crisis.

The award was received, on behalf of the Information Society S.A., by the Chairman Mr. Dimitrios Askounis and the manager responsible for the project’s strategy, Mrs. Eleni Dede, while on behalf of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Georgios Marios Karagiannis.

The Deputy Secretary General for Civil Protection, Mr. Georgios Marios Karagiannis highlighted among others: “Number 112 has changed the way citizens are informed about emergencies. This is a group effort focused on the citizen. More than 200 people have worked hard for number 112. We just receive the award for all of them. The Information Society is known for its innovative projects, but this time it has surpassed itself.”

In his greeting, the Chairman of the Information Society S.A., Mr. Dimitrios Askounis stressed: “Thank you very much for this award. Indeed, 112 was a very successful project. These projects have many factors for their success. But the two most important are the political will and the know-how. The representative of the political will is the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, and the other representative is our people, in this case the project manager, Mrs. Dede. So, the prize is awarded to them today.

Also, Mrs Eleni Dede, the Head of Project’s Strategy for the Information Society, stated: “Thank you very much for the honour, but also for the trust that the company has shown me for 20 years now. And because behind such… smart projects, there stands a smart woman, I want to note that we are a mixed group but with a strong feminine presence in all parts involved. For this reason, trust us.”
