The kick off meeting (25-26/1/2023) of the project “Innovation Hub for Digital Governance and Acceleration of Digital Public Services (GR digiGOV innoHUB)” was successfully completed at the Ministry of Digital Governance, with the participation of the IS S.A.
The GR digiGOV-innoHUB project will support the development of the new generation of Public Services, which will utilise advanced Digital Technologies (AI, Blockchain, IoT, mobile Internet, Cloud High Performance Computing (HPC), etc.). Operating as a digital technology lab, it will accelerate the development of innovative digital solutions through flexible and effective collaborations between the public and private sectors, and the academic/research community.
The Information Society has undertaken the creation of a Virtual Digital Market, which aims to bring together Public Bodies that need new digital solutions, with market players (GovTech) or the research community that offer or can design such solutions. The needs of Public Bodies will be correlated with innovation solutions with the aim of gradually implementing the solutions in the RFP-RFI configuration process. In the context of the project, the IS will design and procure pre-commercial contracts (PCP-PPI) which will act as a pilot to create a guide for the Supply of Innovative ICT solutions for the public sector. The ultimate goal is the gradual transformation of the public sector into a major investor in digitally innovative products and services.
The project involves 16 researchers from the research and academic community, coordinated by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET), who specialise in AI, HPC and digiGOV and are actively involved in the design and development of advanced information systems and infrastructure for the digital transformation of the Greek Public Administration.
