What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is the implementation of promotion actions in order to communicate the objectives of the Project to the target population of the project, namely:
- Informing the people who will have the necessary qualifications and the will to play the role of personal assistant.
- Informing the persons with disabilities and their relatives – carers about the conditions and possibilities of obtaining a personal assistant, their role, etc.
- Informing social partners, institutions and citizens.
- Sharing with the community and the general population the results of the two phases of the pilot testing.
Independent living is a fundamental right of persons with disabilities and an obligation of the State according to the country’s Constitution and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, with particular emphasis on personal assistance. A pilot testing of the help of the personal assistant for independent living, enables each beneficiary to be supported in his/her routine and to be helped to develop the necessary skills for his/her daily needs, depending on his/her functionality and his/her social and personal factors and work status.
What is the purpose and objective of the project?
The pilot testing of the “Personal Assistant for Persons with Disabilities” service gives the opportunity to beneficiaries to be supported in their routine and to be helped to develop the necessary skills for their daily needs, depending on their functionality and their social and personal factors and work status.
The purpose of this contract is to carry out Promotion and Publicity Actions, through which:
- Individuals with the necessary qualifications will be informed to apply for the role of personal assistant.
- Persons with disabilities and their relatives – carers will be informed about the assignment process of Personal Assistants.
What are the benefits of the project?
The expected benefits from the implementation of the project relate to the following:
- Dissemination of information on the pilot testing of the “Personal Assistant for Persons with Disabilities” service introduced for the first time in Greece to the entire population.
- Informing all stakeholders (persons with disabilities, relatives-caregivers, Personal Assistant candidates and candidate Assessors for the Special Evaluation Committees) about how the programme works and about its aims and objectives.
- Mobilisation of all the above parties for their support and participation in this new service.
