Dear friends,

Three years of rapid development have brought the Information Society (IS) to the forefront of Greece’s digital transformation with emblematic projects that have contributed to the improvement of the everyday life of citizens, that is, all of us. Projects such as Freedom Pass, Power Pass, Digital Care, 112, the Acropolis Digital Museum have been added to a number of important projects that we have implemented in our 20 years of existence, such as Conjunction I, Taxisnet, Patient Privacy, Diavgeia, Kallikrates, Police on line, Participate in the CS, e-services actions, etc.

In the new page of our company, launched three years ago, the commissioning and implementation of projects and actions were accelerated, while at the same time critical digital transformation needs of the pandemic period were addressed.

This newsletter aspires to become a communication channel for our actions and plans.

We, the Information Society, are the executive arm supporting the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) projects in the public sector, as well as state aid actions in ICT. Over the past years we have concluded more than 70 programme agreements worth more than €2.5 billion. euro. We have an open channel of communication with the Ministry of Digital Governance, with the Public Administrations and the market with our main partners, the IT and telecommunications companies, in order to achieve the optimal implementation of the Digital Transformation Paper and the Recovery Fund projects. In particular, the Recovery Fund is giving a big boost to digital projects, as its interventions touch a wide range of actions for the digital transformation of public administration.

Through our work, we have convinced ourselves that this digital transformation is something that concerns everyone in the same way.

We participate institutionally in the specification of the country’s digital strategy, we implement ICT projects funded by the EU Structural and Investment Funds (NSRF), the Public Investment Programme, the Recovery Fund or through Public-Private Partnerships and we support the identification of the needs of public administration bodies in ICT projects.

At the same time, we provide specialist support to organisations throughout the lifecycle of the ICT projects we are called upon to implement. As you can easily see, our actions touch almost every aspect of the relationship between citizens and businesses and the public sector.

In the very near future, we are planning to launch 63 projects with a total budget of €1.4 billion. We will trigger the digital transformation of every process in key sectors such as Health, Justice, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Maritime, Primary Sector and Public Administration.

Usually projects are impressive in terms of their number and budget, but they cannot be implemented without the equally important element of IT – its human resources. From a small unit of 60 people, in recent years, KPI has grown and evolved into an organization with 200 highly qualified partners, from whose “hands” a very large number of applications and services have passed that are now part of the everyday life of citizens and businesses.

Stavros Asthenidis, CEO of Information Society, recently spoke on Sky TV about the 440 million Euros program of the Recovery Fund to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Information Society has the leading role in the implementation of “Greece 2.0”, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which includes digitization actions that reach every aspect of the economy and social life.
