The 21st Greek ICT Forum was attended by the Managing Director of IS S.A., who participated as a speaker in the section “Strategies, Methodologies and Implementations of Digital Transformation of Businesses and Bodies”.

In his speech, he referred to the unprecedented possibilities offered by the Digital Transformation to increase the productivity and functionality of Businesses and Bodies, while he stressed its importance and decisive contribution to the prosperity of modern economies and non-exclusive societies.

He highlighted the need to invest not only in technology but also in the human factor. “The human factor is the driving force for the development of the digital economy and the integration of its benefits into the Greek society and economy. The strengthening of the digital skills of human resources should be continuous and follow the technological development, given that it creates the appropriate background for the further development of entrepreneurship in the sector of digital economy.” he said among other things.

Finally, he referred to the development that the company is experiencing with the assistance of the Ministry of Digital Governance and the catalytic role that IS S.A. is called to play so that the results, we need to achieve as a country in the context of the new digital reality, will be immediate.

Countries with surpluses in the adoption and application of digital technologies in all vital areas of their operation and economy, are the protagonists of today and tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Greece in the past years of the crisis, has lagged behind in relation to this direction.

If we want our country to play a key role in the new era of the digital economy, we must cover this gap at a rapid pace.

However, the cooperation between the Government, stakeholders and the market, in general, is a determining factor for success, by focusing on the simplification of procedures and “smart and targeted interventions”. While digital technologies overturn the existing organisational structures and business models and create new tools, processes and new business development standards, the adoption and use of digital technologies are no longer a voluntary option for businesses, but a key parameter for their survival and evolution.

All the productive forces of the country must have a common goal of the essential transition to the digital age. We need to co-shape the future, to create growth opportunities for the economy, the job positions and the society, in general.

In order to achieve results, we need to go above and beyond, adopt new practices and be ready for radical changes, both on the side of the State and on the side of the market and businesses.
In this context, the digital transformation of businesses serves as a catalyst for the development of the Greek economy and the creation of new and quality jobs today and in the future.

This transformation should include investments not only in technology, but also in the human factor, incorporating human resource training and development practices and enhancing the know-how in the field of digital technologies. The human factor is the driving force for the development of the digital economy and the integration of its benefits in the Greek society and economy. The strengthening of the digital skills of human resources should be continuous and follow the technological development, given that it creates the appropriate background for the further development of entrepreneurship in the sector of digital economy.

Our goal at Information Society S.A. is to contribute through our know-how, so that the results we need to achieve as a country in the context of the new digital reality will be immediate.
