In the margins of the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, Dimitris Giantsis, General Director of Projects at Information Society S.A, talked to CNN Greece about the progress made so far in the implementation of the digital technologies projects financed by the Recovery Fund.

Mr. Giantsis stressed that most of the projects undertaken by IS SM.S.A. have already been announced and are being implemented. Now the greatest challenge is their completion and launch, always in compliance with the quality specified within the time limits set by the Recovery Fund.

According to Mr. Giantsis, special emphasis is given to projects related to civil protection, while in 2024 a total of about 20 important projects will be announced. Among the most important of them is one concerning the control of containers arriving at the entrance gates of the country.

Mr. Giantsis also noted that in 2023 more than 35 projects were delivered, and this year another approximately 40 projects are expected to be completed. Among the most important of these is a project concerning the remote examination of witnesses which will improve the functioning of the courts, but also a project concerning the interoperability relating to the interconnection of all public registers and databases. This last project is expected to significantly help serve more efficiently Greek citizens in their dealings with public bodies.
