With absolute consistency to the timetable that was committed, the “Information Society S.A.” proceeds with the start of the implementation of the six (6) infrastructure subprojects of “SYZEYXIS II“, of the Ministry of Digital Governance, which has been characterized by the State as a project of significant economic and technological value.

Specifically, on Monday 07.12 the executive contract of Island 6 (part of Attica and all the Cyclades) and on Thursday 10.12 the remaining five (5) executive contracts of Islands 1-5 (all the rest of Greece) were signed by Mr. Stavros Asthenidis, CEO of I.S. S.A. and Mr. Chrysostomos Kritiotis, CEO of LOGICOM SOLUTIONS LIMITED, contractor of Island 6 and Mr. Lykourgos Antonopoulos, ICT Solutions Director of OTE and counterparty for the consortium “OTE SA – SPACE HELLAS SA – UNISYSTEMS SA”, contractor of Islands 1-5, respectively, in the framework of the Security/Telephony/Teleconferencing/Cabling Infrastructure project of SYZEYXIS II, with a total budget of €125 million.

The Infrastructure / Security / Telephony / Teleconferencing / Wiring project concerns the supply of advanced equipment to the public sector entities, in order to enable the provision of upgraded and more secure voice, data and video telecommunications services to them, enabling them to participate in the digital transformation of the country, which is currently taking place. The ultimate beneficiaries of the digital transformation of the public sector will be citizens and businesses, who will enjoy improved and upgraded digital public services. According to the current timetable, the entire physical scope of the signed contracts is expected to be completed before the end of 2021.

After the signing of the executive contracts, the CEO of I.S. S.A. Mr. Stavros Asthenidis pointed that:“The Information Society S.A. proceeds dynamically and consistently in the implementation of the projects it has undertaken, so that the digital transformation of the country reaches the high levels we have set as a goal. We continue with undiminished commitment to stand in support of all the efforts of the Ministry of Digital Governance, so that the citizen can enjoy high quality digital services and feel that the state and the public sector is his ally“.

From his side, the General Manager of Projects of I.S. S.A., Mr. Dimitris Ginatsis said that:“The signing of the contracts is the happy end of a long and arduous tender process, as well as the beginning of a new, demanding and complex process, the implementation of the projects, for which the team of I.S. SA is ready to respond equally successfully, in close cooperation with the contractors of the projects and our partners“.

On behalf of the contractors of the project, the ICT Solutions Director of OTE Group, Mr. Lykourgos Antonopoulos said that: “Telecommunications and information and communication technologies are now at the core of any sustainable development plan and the foundation of the new digital world. As a group of companies “OTE AE – SPACE HELLAS SA – UNISYSTEMS SA” we are very pleased to contribute to a milestone project for the e-government of the country and the digital transformation of the public sector. It is a complex and challenging project. We have the experience and know-how to get it done in the best possible way.”

Finally, the CEO of “LOGICOM SOLUTIONS LIMITED”, Mr. Chrysostomos Kritiotis said that:
I would like to thank the Information Society S.A. and its Management for the trust it has placed in Logicom Solutions by awarding it this strategically important project for the digital transformation of the country’s Public Administration. Logicom Solutions’ highly skilled and experienced team of architects and network engineers, in collaboration with Cisco, fully aware of the importance of this project, will work with dedication to achieve the desired goal.

The “SYZEYXIS II” project concerns the creation of the Public Sector Network (pursuant to Law 3979/2011), with the main objective of providing a set of upgraded telecommunication services to all General Government entities for three consecutive years, thus providing coverage to approximately 34,000 points of presence (buildings) of the Public Sector, as well as wireless telecommunications services. It is a continuation and extension (quantitative and qualitative) of the existing National Public Administration Network “SYZEYXIS”, which currently covers only 4,500 points of presence of institutions. With the completion of “SYZEYXIS II”, all public institutions will have upgraded telecommunications services, with a drastic increase in internet access speeds, thus offering even more and better services to the citizen. At the same time, for the first time the Greek State will know exactly how much money it spends on the communication needs of its agencies (landline, mobile and internet).
