The event of the Information Society with the topic: #TransformingGReece (Transforming Greece) was held at the Benaki Museum amphitheatre on Wednesday afternoon.

The event was prefaced by the Minister of State and Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, who referred to “the work done by the Information Society and its significant contribution to the implementation of the digital transformation projects”. Furthermore, he focused on the “significant contribution of the company and all the reforms achieved during the pandemic”. In conclusion, Mr. Pierrakakis stressed: “Everything we’ve done is just the beginning. What has been achieved is that the talent of our people has now been released. A few years ago we asked “how did you do it”, now they ask us “How did you do it”. And this is your achievement. Thank you very much for this.”

On his part, the Chairman of the Information Society, Dimitris Askounis, said in his greeting: “We have shown that when there is a strategic plan, will and belief in a common goal can help us achieve. We are moving forward by implementing even more projects that make the lives of the citizens and the operation of businesses easier than ever. We support the Ministry to achieve the digital transformation of the country. We support the Ministry to change the country for the benefit of the citizens.”

Finally, the Managing Director of the Information Society, Stavros Asthenidis, closed the event and made his mark for the following day: “We have achieved a lot, we want more. This also reflects our desire to transform the IS from a key executive agency of the Ministry of Digital Governance into a key actor for the design, development and implementation of projects that strengthen the citizen’s digital relationship with public administration and actively promote Greece in the 4th industrial revolution.”

The event was honoured by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Ioannis Tsakiris and the Secretary-General for Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures, Leonidas Christopoulos and the Secretary-General for Information Systems of Public Administration, Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos, among others.
